Notary Services

Simon is a certified Notary and can offer all Notarial services in accordance with international and local law.  The services are offered on site or at a location of your choice.

Notary  services include:

1. Notarial translations.

a. Why are translations required to be Notarised?

A notarised translation bears with it the confirmation of the Notary that the translation is accurate and reflects the said on the document. In many cases a Notarised translation is required in order to confirm the accuracy and content of the presented document. The office can provide translations from English to Hebrew and Hebrew- English. Alternatively, the office can provide confirmation a translation submitted by a suitable translator of that language.

b. Israel Health ministry exams

In order to enter the health profession in Israel, many olim need to produce certified translations of the their licences and other documents in order to be admitted to that specific profession in Israel . This is sometimes a pre-requisite for sitting the Health ministry exams in that field. The Nefesh B’Nefesh website provides exact information relating to the exact documents required by the health ministry. My office is able to provide a quick  and efficient service in translating and notarising the required documents.

2. Confirming Signatures.

The Hague covention  provides that if a person in a foreign jurisdiction signs a document and then has an apostille attached to it, the document is considered as if it was signed in the recipient country. IE A document signed in New York with an apostille and presented in Israel will be viewed as a document signed in Israel. The Notary must ensure the person understands what he is signing, it is not just a case of witnessing a signature. Another aim is to ensure the identity of the person was checked by the notary. A passport or Israeli Identity Card must be produced in order to confirm identity.

3. Notarised Wills.

In Israel in order for a will to be valid it must either be signed in the presence of two witnesses or before a Notary. There are several advantages of signing a will before a notary. One of the main advantages is that the will is kept discreet and secret from anyone aside from the notary. Another advantage is that if, G-d forbid, the will is challenged, the court will give more credence to the will as it was signed before a Notary and not witnesses.

4. Fee’s charged by the Notary.

The fee charged by the Notary are in accordance with those published by the justice ministry. The fee is updated once a year in accordance with the Cost of Living Index. A notary is prohibited from charging more or less than the fee published by the Justice Ministry.

5. Mobile Notary Services:

Simon  offers mobile notary services at a location of your choice. Please be aware that as per the law in Israel the fee for a notarisation at a location of your choice is a lot more expensive. If you are using  mobile notary services the fee will be at least an extra 531 nis+ VAT.
